Acne is not just a simple skin problem. It is an inflammatory disorder of the skin that develops as a result of blockages in follicles. When not treated properly, it can turn into a serious skin condition. Acne or Acne Vulgaris is the standard acne that occurs in people of all ages. It is caused by imbalances and impurities within the body, so an important part of curing this skin disorder is internal cleansing.

Acne can be successfully treated using natural home remedies. The first process to consider is a body detox: cleanse the colon, then the liver and then the blood – in that order.

Herbal Teas
A fusion of herbs like burdock, yellow dock and echinacea made into a tea with a dash of honey can be taken 3 times a day. Another effective detox tea is made with dandelion root (liver cleanser) and sarsaparilla with burdock (blood cleansers). These are very powerful cleansers!

Lemon
Lemon is useful against acne – it is an excellent skin cleanser. Lemon juice can be rubbed on the face at bedtime and then cleaned off the next morning.

Garlic
Crush or blend garlic with water to create a paste. Apply it to the affected areas. Alternatively, garlic cloves can be rubbed on the acne several times. The external use of garlic helps to clear the skin of spots, pimples and boils.
Eating garlic is also beneficial. Garlic’s most powerful medicinal compounds are released when it is crushed and eaten raw.

Fresh Juices
Drinking the juices of fresh fruits and vegetables will help to cleanse your body which in turn will reduce toxicity levels. You can use a combination of your favourite fruits/vegetables such as apples, pears, oranges or any other hard fruits that can be juiced/carrots, celery, spinach… be sure not to mix fruit and vegetable juices.

Papaw/Cucumber/Tomato
Papaw juice or a paste made of ripe tomatoes applied to the affected skin are also effective solutions. Juice made out of cucumber can be taken as a drink or applied directly onto the face with a cotton ball. A cucumber paste can be used as a face mask.

Tea Tree Oil
Tea tree oil is one of the best natural acne remedies. It works to quickly eliminate any of the pimples that would dare raise an ugly head on your skin.

Zinc
The use of zinc in curing acne is becoming more popular in the field of natural health. After studies showed impressive results, more and more people are taking zinc in therapeutic dosages of 50 mg one to three times daily.

Healthy Lifestyle
Regular exercise and a healthy diet are both key to promoting healthy skin. Making positive lifestyle choices can do wonders for the largest organ of our bodies – our skin!
